Yeah, I'm still supposed to do those.

Thoughts on Mad Cowgirl was that it seemed to be four movies in one...

1. A truly creepy, eerie horror flick. It starts out this way, but ends with #4, which I found a bit of a bummer but many found brilliant.

2. An actually pretty hot medium core movie with a nymphomaniac woman who is as obsessed with cow meat as man meat. These parts were good, too.

3. A sad and moody movie about a woman who is taken advantage of by all of the men in her life. This part of the movie seemed a bit too long... I thought it bordered on Lifetime-ness.

4. A pulp-referencing Kung Fu movie. This was a lot of fun. But, it was a little light-hearted after the uber-dark ending promised by #1. As I mentioned, some people, professional reviewers who are used to festival movies, thought this was absolutely brilliant.

I dunno. Really, I probably went in there comparing it to million dollar movies, not getting into the 'movie shot on a super-camcorder' mindset. Patches of it were absolutely brilliant... I definitely think that that Gregory Hatanaka can direct (though I'm not completely sold on his script... the dialogue was as good as movie dialogue is, but I'm not completely in the 'wahoo! nonsensical plot!' camp) and I thought Sarah Lassez was great, too.

So, I' d catch it if I were you... go here.

Oh, and LYT did good, too. Like, really: at one point he gets in character well enough that I completely missed him. And, he makes a good murderous psycho.
